What You’ll Need
-
An old pair of jeans
-
Scissors
-
Fall‑themed fabric or lace
-
Sewing machine or needle and thread
-
Pins
-
Measuring tape
Step‑by‑Step Instructions
1. Cut the Jeans
Lay your jeans flat and cut straight across at the crotch. This separates the top from the legs and creates the base of your apron.
2. Split the Sides
Cut down both side seams to separate the front panel from the back. You’ll use the front piece as the main apron body.
3. Prepare the Pocket Piece
Take the back pockets and cut them apart along the center fold. Square off one pocket to the size you would like for the upper piece — this will become the top chest piece of your apron.
4. Hem the Apron Body
Hem the bottom and both sides of the front jean panel. Once hemmed, add your fall fabric or lace along the bottom and side edges for decoration.
5. Add Neck Ties
Hem the top edge of your pocket piece. As you hem, attach your neck ties securely to each upper corner.
6. Decorate the Pocket Piece
Add lace or fall fabric to the two side edges of the pocket piece to give it a seasonal touch.
7. Attach Top to Bottom
Place the pocket piece and the apron body right sides together, center them, and sew across the edge to join them.
8. Add Side Ties
Sew your side ties to the waist area of the apron. Hem any remaining raw edges.
9. Enjoy Your New Apron
Your fall jean apron is complete — a cute, rustic project perfect for crafting season.
